Electrical mains board replacement

If you are looking to update your old fuse board in order to meet today’s power demand then all you need to do so is some basic up gradation of your fuse box. Don’t let an out of date and old fuse board hold you back. Don’t delay contact your local electrical installer today.

In the present day there is more and more demand for electricity in our homes due to modern television sets, home offices with computers, printers & faxes, modern kitchen appliances such as huge American style fridge freezers, dishwashers, gaming consoles, surround sound system, hair & beauty appliances etc. the reason why we need these modern day appliances is because they make life much easier. However, the  fact  is that the older the property, the less efficient the fuse board will be in order to power all of these new appliances. The reason is fairly simple, the old fuse box would have been sufficient for the time when the house was built however with newer appliances the fuse box needs to be upgraded to. An electrical fuse up grade or a rewire can bring your property’s electrical requirements up to date with current demand for running more efficiently.

Does any of the following keep happening?  Here are some indications of  problems with your fuse board or wiring:-

When you have few appliances running at once the fuse wire in the rewire able breakers keep blowing or the switches  switch off?

Do you have problems with the brightness of your lights? . i.e do they keep flickering?

Do you experience problems with the electrical feed to your appliances? i.e. power surges?

This can all be an indication that  their is an overload on your  fuse board and the electrical installations are out of date and in need of an upgrade in order to get the most out  of the use of your modern appliances.

The upgrading of your electrical fuse board is quite straight forward to a experienced electrician. An upgrade to a modern fuse board will increase the electrical supply around your home and stop any problems that you had been experiencing with the old electrical installation. However, in some cases an upgrade of the fuse board might not enough then a  full rewire may be  needed. This involves replacing all the wiring and sockets, light fittings etc around the home. As mentioned before this should only be carried out by an experienced electrician or electrical contractor  and not attempted by a DIY enthusiast.

Usually a straight forward rewire and fuse board upgrade will  bring your power needs up to date but if you are considering installing any additional high powered appliances or gadgets to your home an electrician will be able to advise you on any extra sockets etc that may be needed.

The best way to find a good electrician is first to ask your friends, relatives or colleges if they can recommend one who had done all their electrical work and they were happy with the work.  The other way is to look for electrician  yourself,  there are a lot of recommended tradesmen online  and in the local directories etc. A good electrician will always come out and have a look at the existing wiring and advise you of the work that needs to be done and give you a no obligation quotation. It is a good idea to get at least three quotes from different companies.

Some other factors are the safety of your home and the running costs. An up to date fuse board and wiring can make sure that the electricity running around your home is running safely and efficiently.
